We live in a society with endless confusion over the concept of overall wellness and health. I personally believe that health is so much more than merely the absence of disease or illness.

Health is a state of complete physical, emotional and social well-being not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.

Achieving wellness requires a systematic approach. This means it is vital to give attention to every aspect of the body as everything is linked in overall lifestyle.

Complete wellness requires a “whole person” perspective revolving around the multitude of choices made on a daily basis. This includes attitude, diet, physical activity, stress management, sleep, love and relationships and so much more.

Health and disease often comes down to individual responsibility. In this context, responsibility is choosing the healthy options rather than the less healthy ones. If you want to be healthy, you must make healthy choices on a daily, consistent basis. Lifestyle medicine and my approach as a health coach will guide you towards these choices.

Your own health is at the centre of your life. Every single part of your life relies on having good health. It’s not possible to be successful in life at any age without physical energy, vitality, focus and mental stamina.

When you don’t have your health is it difficult to:

  • perform at work if you are tired or not well to be productive
  • can’t pursue your dreams and goals, hobbies, social life, travel and create life that you truly want.
  • support your family and friends and consciously parenting your children and be present for your loved ones.
  • express love intimacy and have quality relationships and be part of your community.
  • have fun with your friends if you dull and lethargic
  • live active and joyful life in old age rather than become burdened and worry for your love ones.
  • have power, strength and energy to have control over your life, to change it if needed at any time.
